Default Going to be installing B-Quiet Extreme, any pointers...

I will be ordering about 100 sq ft. Does anyone have some pointers or helpful hints?

I went to Constrictor's webpage (very good write-up by the way), I know that he doubled up in some areas, where would be the best place to double up? Anyone else have some good write-ups or pics for reference?

Any and all help, experience, advice, etc. will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

my old deadening post:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ight=deadening

biggest, hugest pointer i can give? get a wooden spoon to use to burnish the deadening down with. seriously, the roller thats typically used works o.k. but if you use the smooth end of a wooden spoon you can REALLY lay it down nice and get it stuck on good. be prepared for a hand cramp or two... and try to get a wooden spoon that has no sharp angles on it, as i used almost every side for different curves and whatnot.

also the stuff lays down hella nice when its warmed up, i took my cut pieces and held them in front of my kerosine heater for a few seconds and that helped alot on the complex curves and stuff. it didnt really help to lay it on and then heat it as much as it did heating it before-hand.

i doubled up (quadrupled even) on the larger, flatter sections like the rear well, the flat section between the well and the rear seats, and the area behind the rear seats. take the plastic end of a screwdriver and tap different areas, you will get a somewhat locked down idea of how much to put where.

also, i wouldnt skimp on the doors. deadening the doors made a huge difference.

All sound deading is heated up and pressed down. not " stick down" and as I have been sponsored by Dynomat I will say that it is said to do two layer. Like my car was one layer Extreme Dynomat and one layer regular Dynomat. Doors are one layer of regular. where the sound system is there is a 3rd layer of 1/2" foam Dynomat for the Fiberglass encloser than bolts down on top.
But that is to stop the pump noise!

All speakers are mounted on 1/2" or more MDF board at has been fiberglassed and speakers are in foam baffles. The rear speakers area aren't baffled as they are spray Dynomate and Polyfilled.

I have seen over 10s of thousand dollar systems sound like ****. Sound Deading makes the car!

i used dynamat extreme on my 96 grand cherokee and it got real expensive. this time around u used a different material on my 2001 Tahoe works beautiful. it is exactly like dynamat extreme but a bit thinner. but even if u use 2 layers of this stuff it still works out to cost less than dynamats one layer and it get thicker.

it is almost like the b-quiet exteme...but in my opinion better and i think cheaper.
what is the roll of the extreme 100sqft going for shipped? i will see if i can get this stuff to u for cheaper if u are interested or anyone. let me know your city, state, and zip. i will figure out what shipping will cost. this comes in 100sqft rolls too.

i have references if u want, over 50 feedback on ebay all 100% positive, paypal verified and confirmed member. u can pm me, reply here or email me at sexyvic1@aol.com
