Questions about Autometer guages?

Questions about Autometer guages? Hey guys,
Bought some guages and had some questions. I have an 2000 SS Camaro, and I have an oil pressure, water temp, and air/fuel ratio, my mechanic who does the work for me told me that after reading the wiring charts he is weary about installing them, he says that the oil pressure needs to be wired into the pcm and on GM cars thats a no no. He also said that the air/fuel needs to be hooked into the o2 sensor which he says can also fry the pcm if the codes run back wrong. I was just wondering if their are any types of wiring harnesses, adaptors, etc. that there are that will allow me to hook these guages up?
