New system utilizing stock 12 disk changer?
Recently got tired of the crap Monsoon system and plan on upgrading. See some good deals on the cbr stereo sight and plan on getting
Front Comps: Infinity Kappa 60.5cs $180
Rear fill: Infinity Ref 5002i I know, rear fill $65
Sub: MTX Thunder Form $175
Speaker Amp: MTX Thunder 564 or 404 $229 or $169
Sub Amp: MTX Thunder 421D (for sub) $189
I'll be getting about 150 sq feet of the B-Quiet Extreme and rewiring everything.
Now, my delimna. I wanted to get a new head unit but keep my 12 disk changer. It seems no one sells an adapter to do such. Is this true. If so it looks like I'd have to stick with the stocker for now. I'd rather spend the money on the above equipment than spend another $700 or so to upgrade and get a new changer.
Also, it seems you can daisy chain the MTX amps. I take it getting the line adaptors would be the best way to go instead of using the high level outputs. Better sound and it seems you have to use the low level inputs on the first amp to be able to daisy chain the 2 amps. Does that sound correct?
I'm more into home theater nowadays but had a pretty strong background in car audio back in the 80's. Wayne Harris who had Terminator Hearse back in the 80's was from my home town. Pretty awesome vehicle for it's day. I think he's now in charge of R&D for Rockford. Anyway, new to this board seeking some advice.
