Rattling subwoofer???
by the way, my setup is:
2 Audiobahn 10" dual voice coil 300W RMS
Power Acoustik 520W amp

The dust cap is the small circlular piece in the very middle of the speaker cone. It is usually a seperate piece than the main cone and is glued in. Too much heat and bad glue can cause them to come loose. Old school Kicker subs used to do this all the time. LOL Just run your fingernail along it's edges and see if it lifts at all.
To check the voice coils you need a multimeter. Set it on ohms and simply put the poistive lead on the speaker positive and the negative on the negative speaker lead. Do this for each voice coil. The impedence should be the same on all of them. The #s wont be exactly what the speaker is rated at for instance. If your speaker is rated at 4ohm per voice coil then you will probabbly see a reading of 3.87ohms on each coil. This is p[erfectly normal.
Another idea is to make sure that your speaker wire is not curled up and touching the bottom of the cone inside the box. If it is or any other material is lightly touching the cone then that will cause a rattle also.
