Default idiot check on HID's please

Hey guys, I am gonna get some HID's for my 98 Z. I think based on searches that I need the 9006's (low beam.) Am I correct, and if I order them, can I get the conversion kit from xenondepot, do I need anything else, and what should I expect? Is the electrical work difficult? (I have never done elec. work before) If I should get them minus projectors, will they be too blinding? I am asking for experiences because I dont want to order the wrong thing for $500+, and they need to be street legal. Thanks guys.

Also do you recommend the 4300's, or other below/including 6000k? What colors can I expect, since the website for XD looks a little photoshopped. I like the whites, but a TINGE of purple/blue would be okay. Thanks guys.

I can get you a set of 9006 8000k which is the blueish you can get without getting purple or white. Ill include the relay with it for $380 shipped to your door...

thanks anyway man, but I ordered the 9006 6000K's last night from xenondepot. here's hoping they work out. 8000K has much less light than standard 4300 as I understand it, despite their blue appearance. Why did you get them / why are you selling them? Anyway I hear and see in pictures that 6000K is mostly white with a TINY bit of purple, which sounds good to me, just enough to show people I am not driving around with my high beams on.

anyway thanks again.

Yes, you lose light intensity, but trust me, you can barely tell until you get to the 8500K+ lights. I have 7500K and wish I went with 8000K.

The 6000k IMO are too much like stock lights, I have an 8000k on my car... PS the one I was talking about is brand new. I have a few sets laying around, one is going on a C5 Corvette tomorrow.... Check out the picture below, thats my car with the 8000k HID kit...

Could you post up some picks of light shining up against the garage and just some pics so we can see the output of the light. Thanks

this tread always seems to come up. anything thats marketed over 6000k is garbage!
you like the hids on ALL oem equiped cars, thats 4100-4300k. the 6000k are plenty. if they are not slyvania, hella or phillips there aftermarket (re-based bulbs, cheap quality ballest). 98camaroz28- you made a good buy. xenon depot is one of the few that sell good kits. a lot of people are fooled by the pics on some sites. if you compare the really WHITE look of some of the 4100k kits to normal halogen lights they are really blue. if you are getting a set for a more cruisin, show car the 6000k are great. they put out great lumens, but trade some for a slighty more blue euro look. for somthing you go on long trips at night in or where the most visiable light output is wanted than you cant beat normal 4100k oem kits.they are still blue rest assured. beware a lot of places will sell you good ballest ,but **** bulbs. if you want to save 20$ or maybe even spend more, have crappy quality, and gay looking almost blue- green lights that wont last than by all means go get them 7,8 or 12k kits. funny, those kits are the ones that sprung up to be marketed for the booming import crowd, so many people on here hate on.

Is it me, or does that look like it has a little too much blue?

Here's a couple charts that will kinda explain it.
