Default Newb needs help constructing his sub box

I need some advice on constructing a sub box that will hold my 12" Eclipse woofer in the driver's side rear trunk cavity.(like a stealth box).

How did you secure the box to where it won't budge when I drive crazy?

If anybody would send me some dimensions or a design for a sub box that you have built, that would be great too. I'll fudge the dimensions a little to get the exact volume correct for my application.

How did you seal your box to where it is air tight? I figure I'll use some silicone cauk on the joints.

Yeah I'm sure they are a nice sub box, but I can go down to Home Depot and get some MDF, caulk, carpet, and spray adhesive for under $30.

Build it out of card board first to get the measurements down.

99% of the boxes I build are fiberglass so they are air tight. You can put a layer of fiberglass in the inside of the box to seal it and give it strength. Fiberglass is not hard, just take patients.

Also I have never built a box for $30. One sheet of MDF is $25 plus tax.

I'm thinking the same thing. A guy here Snootch fit a 12" in there, but it was Fiberglass, bondo, Mdf. Not as cheap, and he got roughly 0.8 cu.Ft.

Find his Website here

And you can look him up under "Snootch" here, and PM him for some info and advice.
