security light, and other weirdness

security light, and other weirdness so, the T/A has done this twice to me now.. which is fine as long as it starts back up, but just annoying. any idea what this is?
turn the key over to start it, and the security light on the dash comes on... stays lit there. engine doesnt crank, the car turns on (the radio, etc..) but the engine doesnt crank.get the key out of ignition, security light is still lit.
get out of the car, close the door, lock the car: look in the window, security light on the dash is still lit. the car will crank over once the security light goes away, which so far i had to wait around 10 minutes for..
any idea wtf this is?

either clean the key and make sure nothing is on it.. maybe it can't read it because of that... or, like in my case... and my sisters... our ignition cylinders (I think thats what it was) went out... had to get new ones, as well as new keys made.

This happened to me a few times also (in my camaro). I wound up getting a new key (from ebay) with the correct vats. Take your key to the dealership and they will tell you your vat number. The new key cleared up the issue.
