Default Check this wierd problem out

I found the problem and Thought I would share since this has happened to me and a friend of mine 2 years ago.

Alright. Sunday night around 10:30 PM after driving from San Antonio to Killeen(160 miles) My car started acting wierd. It was stumbling alittle and started to actually buck a little. Finnaly the SES light cam on. It was p0151 low voltage, P0300, and 2 others I can't remember.

I finnally pulled over where I could and started probing around trying to figure it out. Since it was pitch black out (and raining) I saw a thunderstorm under the heat sleves for my Plug wire. The wire is arcing to ground. (looked really cool) So I figured it was a bad Plug wire and got it home.

I then Replaced the wire and spark plug and tried it again. No luck. So I started pulling more plugs and found all 8 fouled out. I did a full Wire and Plug swap and got the car running better. Cleared the codes and away I went.

Drove to work and it seemed fine. When I came back out I started it and let it warm up and the problem returned. So I pulled out my Diablo Sport and Took a good look at the real time data and saw the Bank 2 O2 reading about 55-105mV. So At this time I figured it was the O2 probably fouled out by all the excess gas. I had figured the Plugs were fouled out bad because the car saw a super lean mix and said to start Dumping fuel.

So I replaced the O2 and Plugs on the Pass. Side again (I'm good. 30 mins now) And the car still does the same thing. I was then thinking I might need to reset the Computer because the LT were stuck at 25%. So I reset, Car drives Great and I wait for it to relearn.

I'm watchin the O2's and the Bank2 is still 55mV-100mV. I'm like WTF????? I'm starting to think that the 02 wires are melted or something (I have Ti-Tech Long Tubes). So the Reading is like a Floating ground (roughly 10% of real readings) and it looks like it is floating. I'm totally confused until I remember I have a Stoich Guage (Auto Meter).

I pull the Tap off the O2 wire and BAMM. It's now working right. Turned out the Guage itself went bad. Whole time it was this.

Figure I would share. This here. Sometimes the least obvious problem is the one.

Had the same exact problem with my autometer a/f gauge also. Except my sparkplug wires werent arching. I changed the plugs twice, wires onces, both 02's twice, the MAF once before I figured out what the problem was. Unhooked the gauge & reset the PCM & everything worked fine. Called autometer & they sent me a new one which I then sold. I was to the point were I was about to set my car on fire, I had tried everything I could think of.

Ya. My buddy was trying to talk me into burning the car also. Such a dumb problem to have. Once I talked to my buddy too, I remembered we had the same problem with his too. Both the guages were the "Auto Lite" series. Was your that type also?

Might be a problem with this guage.
