With audio equipment, especially speakers, it's more a matter of personal taste than anything. Sure, it's important to pick a good brand, but there are plenty of quality manufacturers out there - best advice is to listen to as much as you can before you shell out coin. What sounds good to the salesman may not necessarily sound good to you. Keep in mind that speakers will obviously sound a little different in the sound-board at the store than they will in your car - most people are proud enough to show off their system, so getting an in-car demo should be fairly easy.

If you replace the monsoon (2 ohm) with a 4 ohm speaker, your power is cut in half. In other words, it will not sound as good as the monsoon. The only way to get your aftermarket 4 ohms to sound good is to take out the stock amp and rewire the speakers to an aftermarket 4 ohm amp. This will get good sound AND volume out of your aftermarket speakers.

Getting a new speaker also depends on what you want to do down the road. If you want to get some subs in the trunk, then get some 3-way speakers for the rear panels. If you don't want subs and want to keep the stock look, then go with some type of 6.5" midbass sub like Rockford Fosgate, Infinity, or any other good brand speaker.

He makes a good point with the 2 Ohm vs. 4 Ohm thing. Newer speakers will most likely be a little more 'efficient', but still will not have the same output as the originals. That just means you'll adjust the volume **** accordingly.

Car Toys in Tulsa actually suggested that I get monsoon to replace the monsoon w/. They said they wouldn't want to put anything else in it.

The monsoon sounds good but there is a small problem with distortion. The monsoon amp has a distortion problem and anyone on this site could tell you that. You are better off getting an aftermarket amp and aftermarket speakers. There is also a sticky on this if you need detailed information. Good luck with the sticky though because it is VERY long.
