First, the Camaros are different than the Firebirds, and Monsoon/non-Monsoon matters too. Second, and I don't mean to be a dick, but pretty-much everything you'll need to get yourself started has already been talked about - check the stickies at the top of this section or use the search button. Everyone's here to help, but you've gotta do a little homework on your own first.

Well If you have a firebird I can tell you right now that even though it says it is 6 1/2 " for the doors it is 6 3/4" I just recently replaced mine because they were blown out too the guy at best buy said his computer told him 6 1/2s but I brought the original and a 6 3/4 will drop right in. BTW I do have a monsoon system so if you have it too then you are set. Also if you replace them with anything more than a two way I recommend unplugging the tweeters on the doors because the treble is way overpowering. I put some four ways in and my ears were going to explode till I unplugged the tweeters on the doors. Hope this helped!!

You're best bet is to just rip the door apart and take out the stockers , take em to wherever you're buying your new speakers and match them up against what they have in stock, thats what I did.

The speaker sizes are the same for the 10-speaker (8-speaker in Camaro) "premium" audio system as they are for the Monsoon system - they mount in exactly the same places. The difference is in the design of the speakers themselves. Monsoon systems use 2-ohms for the speakers that are connected to the amp (basically all except the tweeters).

So, the doors and sail panels use "oversize" 6.5 inch speakers (6.75 inch fits well) and the hatch area has 4 inch speakers.
