Default wiring issue

What is the easiest way to get a pair of 3 wire bundles from the rear lights to the engine compartment. I'm thinking interior, but i'd rather not be pulling any trim. Then i thought underneath, but i'm not sure. This is for my pair of strobe cables, as i miss my rear strobes. I'm tired of worring that my car is gonna get wacked on the highway when i have to stop.

I would pull the trim panel that goes along the driver's seat and the lower dash on the driver's side and run the wires under the carpet. That would probably be as easy as anything even though you wish to avoid doing so.

DEFINATELY INSIDE!....a few reasons....the underside gets HOT...not that you cant run wires underneath, but then you have to take the time to insulate and shield wires against exhaust heat...what a PITA!
Also, when you run wires inside, they are easily accesible for future mods if any are needed and you also avoid moisture from rain snow etc.....removing panels isnt that bad...its actuially easy on these "plastic" cars...BUT TAKE YOUR TIME!

ok, thanks. I was thinking about the exhaust heat. I didn't want to melt the outer shell exposing the three wires. Any tips on removing panels. I was thinking of going down the passenger side though, since i have to go out the firewall by the PCM then.

the passenger side panel that is long and right at your feet is easily removed with a phillips screwdriver--4 screws I think it is...it sometimes is a bitch to get the holes to line up correctly when you put them on, but it's not that terrible...right under the dash on the passenger side is two plastic deals that you turn (might require pliers to grip it tightly enough to turn a full 90 degrees) and then the bottom just slides out, it's pretty straightforward when you look at it. You can probably get by with just fishing the wire through the very large panel that the rear speaker sets behind that's just to your right if you are in the back seat...just lift up the seat itself a little bit to make room and kind of go along the outside of the panel stuffing wire in. hopefully that's not too hard to follow; it would be much easier to explain just looking at it. i tend to think that way is easier than taking off the panel, and the clothes hanger that holds it in.

once you get your wire all the way back there take off the panel that the jack sits behind and fish it through. the panel on the very rear deck just pops out if i remember right.

hopefully that gets you started, but seriously, the panels are very straightforward in how they come out and go back in (just that one piece that I mentioned tends to be the tricker). If I had a dime for every time I took those panels off for all my stereo runs, I would be a rich rich man. But just take your time pulling them off and you should be fine, I don't even think you need the 7mm socket to take off any of those panels, just the phillips screwdriver for the 4 lower screws.
