Default How the Heck.. Dash Kit for HU

Hey Guys,

I got the 4544 Dash kit for my Pioneer DEH-P770MP, and omg.. I cant get that thing to stay stable in the dash, and the kit (Metra) WHAT A POS. How did you secure the radio in the dash? Any suggestions?

Should have 3 plastic tabs on the sides. 2 on one. 1 on the other. These fit over the screw holes. Then just screw it down like the stock headunit.

There is a kit specific for your vehicle.. the 4544 is a universal kit so naturally it sucks. If you go to a Best Buy, they have them there... or at least you can find the number that you need so that you can get it cheaper elsewhere 18.49 HAH!!!

yea best buy screws you on those things. Dont let them sucker you into getting an antenna adapter for like 12 bucks! You can make it work without it

The antenna adaptor makes it fit much better though... All GM vehicles now have to use that..
Be glad you don't have one of the new GM vehicles with the reduced wiring... they ran part of the airbag system and a few other goodies through the factory radio.. thus requiring either a $60 relocation harness (to keep the factory in the car) or a $60 black box. REDICULOUS!! I've seen someone spend more on parts for a radio to put into their vehicle than the radio itself cost!

I went back to my local audio shop and said the 4544 metra kit was worthless, and he ordered me a model-specific kit.. no charge.

I'm curious what kind of TOOL they have working behind the counter there. Did he not ask you what kind of car you were installing the deck into? The only reason I could see for him selling you a universal kit would be either A. They don't make a kit for your car or B. You have a custom application you are looking to do it in reverting back to reason A. That should be the FIRST question they ask is what kind of car it's going in. Bunch of retards man! Hopefully they order you the correct one this time
