Question Is it possible???

Guys, I'm planning on getting 3 subs 10" + 4 mids + 2 amps for my 2000 Z28 in order to have a great sound system in it, BUT I'd like to know if the factory stereo would work with the system as well as with the steering wheel, if u see what I mean?
Thanks a lot!

You're going to spend all that money and time and effort, only to drive it all with the factory HU????

Not a good idea in my opinion... possible, but not recommended at all..

Remember, GIGO.

Yes, it's possible... but you won't get the best quality out of anything... especially the subs.

ok where should/can I put and install the aftermarket HU then? I am pretty picky and I don't wanna take my factory stereo out of my dash, I wanna keep it on (factory look), if u see what I mean? would a good CD changer work with the system? any ideas?

You should definately use an aftermarket radio... but if you don't want to remove the factory for that "facotry" look, then get a non-motorized, detachable faceplate radio and install the unit under a seat, or some other remote location, and install the faceplate in the visor... kinda a PITA, but it will give you what you want and what you need. You might also need to get a cd changer as well.

Just remember... whatever you want, you can have... It's all about how much you are willing to spend in time and money. (as far as modding cars is concerned)
