Need advice for speakers/subs
Need advice for speakers/subs First of all, I admit I don't know jack about car audio. Currently I have factory speakers, and in my 1994 Trans Am, there is almost no bass. I can turn on loud (I have a non-factory mp3 player, I guess head unit?) installed, which helps a little, but when theres not much distortion noise you can hear the speakers buzzing.
I don't need a sub just for the thump that vibrates people in cars besides me. I listen to rock/metal music, and I just want the overall bass sound. Do I have to get subs or can I get upgraded speakers that can support a higher bass sound?
The main reason I don't want boxed subs is because I don't to take up the room. My friend has a huge one right behind the back seats, but I need that area, and the Ttop/trunk area. I've seen the enclosures that go on the rear sides of the trunk, but I don't want to have to get rid of my spare tire.
Any suggestions? By the way, I'm not looking to spend a ton of money.

If you look at the top of the posts page there is a thread that talks about doing speaker upgrades. In there you can find a ton of stuff on just adding a sub for bass up to adding a full blown competition system.

go with a bazooka tube good bass and less space or sent u gotta head unit just up grade ur factory speakers..go to crutchfield.com enter ur car make/modle and year it will tell ya what size speakers u got..have fun
