Default I need some help after a factory install.

i know this is a dumb question before i ask it but i just installed a factory 12 disc changer in my 2k1 ss. everything seems to work fine. my question is, on the installation instructions that came with the wiring harness it told me to

1)remove amplifier connector from back of radio. remove terminal from plug body.
2)insert amplifier terminal into # 7 position on CD changer plug body.
3)reinsert (illegible type) connector into back of radio

all i did was plug and play and it worked, but i dont want to do any electrical damage to my car. i did not remove any amp terminals or reinsert them anywhere else. my question, finally, is did i do anything wrong? has anybody else been this confused about this issue? thanks in advance for any help!
