How much is involved in installing a raptor in the AC vent above the radio? I have one on my desk, just no time to get around to put it in yet.

I did it pretty much the same, except I grounded mine to one of the bolts that secure the Pcm, because it bolts up to the body to keep it simple and stock looking. Cant even tell it is there. I also used a knife to cut the vent tube's little grill. I also cleaned the area behind the PCM while I was there, luckily it was just leaves
Its easy JUST DO IT.

Put mine up high on the A-pillar, as I wanted it to be eye level. I like it up there as I don't have to take my eyes off the road. While I could see it in the defrost vent or A/C vent and STILL keep my eyes on the road, up top on the pillar is where it is strongest in my peripheral vision.

Mine is in the far left vent, not in the pilar vent.

Ok, even though this thread is over 2yrs old, I'll still post the old cell phone pics from dec 05 when I installed mine.

The rubber grommet was purchased at Auto Zone. The brand is Spectre, and it comes in a 2 pack, 1 each of 2 different sizes. The smaller one works nicely.

man I really like it there but doesn't your left arm block it while your holding the steering wheel? I got one last christmas but haven't put it in yet because I like the idea of it where yours is but I want to make sure I can see that puppy light up.

Nope, I don't have a problem at all seeing it. I race with my left hand on the wheel at about 9 o'clock, and my right hand on the shifter of course.

I was going to put it in the vent but then I though, if I ever wanted to change my shift point then it would be alot of work. What I did was unsolder the 3 leads from the light and extend them with wires. The car is in a million pieces right now but maybe I can find some pics of it while it was together

I have the harlan in my small a-pillar vent like most firebird guys. I don't think you will have any problem seeing the red LED's go off. They are fricken bright !

I just bought an 01 ws6 from someone on ls1tech and he mounted the raptor shift light behind the pillar vent, and the vent cover/flaps are still there so it looks complelty stock until your going through the gears. I will post pics soon
