Default Installed some new toys

I just got finished installing my new H/U, kenwood KDC-mp828, and my new infinity kappa 60.7cs components for the fronts. Over all I am pleased. The H/U has so many features I think it took me longer to get it set up then to install it.
The only thing that I find strange is the front speakers now are not as loud as they were before. They sound clear, but I have to fade the head unit foward to balance things out. It was the opposite before with the stock monsoon. Any one have any ideas what could be causing this?
Oh yeah the car is a '01 formula. Thanks.

Could be that your Kappas are power hungry and hence produce less volume?

How did you mount them anyhow?

Congrats on the install

Since you mentioned stock speakers, I'm assuming your using the Monsoon Amp and stock wiring harness for your new head unit and door speakers.

IF so, did you hook both tweeter and woofer thru the crossover module? If you did, that would explain why you don't get the volume from the front channel you should be. As you would have to have used the tweeter input (from the head unit) rather than the amplified woofer input for it to sound right.

If this is the case, all you need to do is disconnect your woofers from the crossover and hook them up to the old woofer input wires. The Monsoon amplifier has built-in crossovers, so no worries about that.

The speakers mounted right in the stock locations, the woofer was a direct bolt in, the tweeters fit well, but took a little riggin' to mount. I used a metra kit for the wiring of the H/U, the one mentioned in the stickies. Then I hooked up the door speakers to the same wires that ran to each one. Tweeter wires had a crossover in line. I think that's what it was, it was wrapped in foam, all taped up. I have owned the car since new, and it has not been messed with.
The new speakers are all 2 ohm, so I figured it was something else. I have the crossovers that came with the new speakers, but did not install them yet. I have a 4 channel amp I am going to install once it gets warmer, and was going to use them then. Also waiting to install my stealth box and 2 channel amp. (it's mighty cold in jersey as of late.)
I appreciate any help, Thanks
