Default Monsoon Radio

Did anyone every hear of the fact you can not replace the OEM speaker with aftermarket speakers without replacing the headunit?

Do you know were I can get cheap new (OEM or Aftermaket) speakers and a headunit?

Yes. I had 3 different stereo shops tell me I had to replace the entire sound system when I went looking to replace my blown door speaker. It's pure BS. There are several aftermarket speakers the work well with the Monsoon system. I think the the Alpines I put in the doors of my SS, sound far better than the stock Monsoon speakers.

I replaced my door speakers with infinity kappa's, was no big deal. Don't let the shop guys jerk you around. You don't "need" a new head unit, BUT they sure are pretty! Just make sure you get the right replacements. There are several mentioned on the board, just do a search.
