radar detector
As for " useless "
Here in Florida....We have many roads under construction....
And many of the roadside construction signs, have some sort of radar built into them....That turns on their display when a car approaches....
In these areas....The " arrows " and the " boggy " count on the V1 comes in very handy....
As you pass the signs....The " arrows " indicate from front to side....This helps by informing you that the alert is " just " the sign and you're clear ahead

I would still slow down, so that argument is not good enough for the arrows

No....I was " trying " to show that by using the arrows and the boggy counter....
You can be assured that there is not another radar also lurking ahead of you....
I have been in many areas where Police use these radar congested areas to try and out-smart drivers using radar dectors....
If the boggy counter is showing 1,2 or more and the arrows are showing the side and front / rear you know you have real trouble....
The arrows help inform you that the alert is just the sign..door opener..alarm system..etc....

Much like everything else in this world, you get what you pay for.
X50 is a good one too but the arrows/bogie counter on the V1 have saved me too many times to count. The V1 even has a advance logic mode which will cut out 99% of the false alarms.
Its worth the money to me to know where the fuzz is, not just that he is
Um, how many radar/laser guns are u expecting to run into?
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I've been using my uncles V1 for 3 weeks now, and am unimpressed w/ all the "features' on top of how ugly the thing is.
And when you sayin the X50 only tracks 3.....and you make that seem like a short coming.
Um, how many radar/laser guns are u expecting to run into?
Im just sick of people saying "V1 BECAUSE OF THE ARROWS"
Guess what buddy, If the radar is coming from the side (which the v1 doesnt tell u WHICH side) Im gonna slow down, and if it's coming from behind, Well IM GONNA SLOW DOWN, and if its from the front, YOU GUESSED IT im gonna slow down.
So I just dont take the BS about the arrows being the best thing, the arrows are useless.
Ok, first off....since you don't have one, don't be soo harsh on either one (V1). I have both and I like the V1 better. Just my $.02
I don't care how ugly the V1 is, it works very well. Plus the V1 weighs about 1/4 the weight compared to the X50. What does that mean? My damn X50 (about 50lbs lol) falls off the damn windsheild alot, not real bad.
The X50 will track multiple sources, but does not display as many as the V1 shows, which helps out ALOT when driving in an area with multiple sources. So if you know an area you're driving through has lets say 4, and you see 5 the next day....could mean a cop near by. And the arrows REALLY help you if you go past those 4 and now you have the front and rear arrows light up.....cop ahead. Do you catch my drift? I hope you do. Arrows are not useless, not having them is.
Lets try this.....if a fighter plane gets a "boogie".....don't you think he would like to know where he is rather then just a beeeeeeeeeep?! It HELPS to know where its coming from.
Now prices you complained about........
My X50 with blue led's $339.00, plus $10 for a hardwire kit = $349.00
My V1 $399.00 (hardwire included!!!
)For me thats only a $50 difference, not $150.
Both are great detectors, they really are. I've read on one site that the X50 is a hair better with POP and I like the filter a little better on the X50.
But.......user friendly and options on the V1 does it for me, thats why I bought another V1 and the X50 sits in my dresser. lol
Peace,
Craig.

lolThe X50 is great, read up on how to program it. The stock settings blow, and go ahead and get the hardwire kit. With or without the remote display its very nice not to have the cord in the way.
Peace,
Craig.
