mmm yeah you would probably need a cross over still... You would need to have cross overs built in for the front and rear channels... ill take a look but most amps have a highg pass low pass and full range for all channels not independant for front and rear...

Excellent thx for helping with that. I can get it at the same shop for less money so I'm saving a little on it as well. Getting psyched. I have the old bee's nest buzz in my left front speaker right now and am in need of new tunes asap. So I'm gonna have the Eclipse 8445 w/PG 200.4 and going to look at speakers tomorrow if all goes well. Gonna put the MB's and Focal's and JL's and Diamonds together in a cage match and see who wins ..lol. I already know I can get any one of them for less than $300. I'll check out subs while I'm there as well. DVC 4 ohm 12 or 10 JL W3v2 on the list. very thankful for your help, would have made mistakes without it for sure. I'll keep you informed as I go.

There are many choices to choose. Kicker also makes a 4 channel amp. zx850.4. The company you are looking at carries it also.

As for the speakers, mb and focal makes a higher version also. I think they are 1000 retail price range. From what I ready, $300 is entry level for mb and focal. At least there's choice.

Yep looked at the kicker but its a 2ohm and I wanted 4. Looked at just about every 4 channel 4ohm hi output I could find and the PG stood above the others.
The speakers are top to middle of the line left overs. Dont be fooled by the price. Those same $1000 speakers will be about $300 when the new ones come out. And find a pair that are 2 years old new and you can get them for less than $200. The S600 hex line is highly regarded. Its not the d971's at $800 a pop but if I wait a year those will be less than $300 as well. Ebay stores are very inexpensive for leftovers and new models. The PG when it was new model sold for well over $600 I've seen it for $899

i dont know if i am jumping in too lateon this, but i for one will buy nothing else but boston acoustics. im not affiliated with them in any way, but all i can say is that i wanted a kick A$$ sound system, SQ, not SPL, and i blew tons of other "high end" speakers (kappa, eXcelon, quart) and went with the BA pro series. granted these are much more $$ than the SL so its not really a comparison, all i can tell you is that bostons will handle just about anything you throw at them. if you get them, you will NOT be dissapointed of years of listening enjoyment and durability. they LOVE power....

I was looking at BA's and was talked out of them and into Diamonds instead. Bottom line is I will listen to any speaker before I buy it and compare it with others. Which BA pro series? pro60 6.5 componant or are you talking the Z series

It's also a 4 ohm amp. Take a look at the manual from the website. Yes, you can get even the new speakers at nearly half off the retail prices so forget buying the old ones. Like you said, ebay has some great deals. I use to buy from the dealer, but it's not worth it to me anymore. Hell if I blow them up, most companies offer you 90 days. If I can't blow them up in 90 days, I am not worried about it, lol.

of course like i said speaker pref is up to the listener to what they like but personally i have yet to hear a bosten setup out perform the diamond hex series speakers. Back in 97 hell even 99 bostons were absolutly one of the best out there but even then they didnt really compair to the mb's of the time or the diamonds at that... My view is that mb's went down in quality a ton and diamonds have stayed the same if not gotten better...I would hope that anyone investing over $100 in speakers would make sure to listen to their options in real life to see what they like first...

Yes it will, look at figure 3 on the diagram. It clearly shows a bridged/stereo setup.

Ok, the amp will run mono output at 4 ohms and 2 ohm stereo. So we both aren't reading this right, lol. The amp will do the output mono at 4ohm (little more output power for the sub), but only 2ohm in stereo. so if the components are only 4ohm, he will have an issue.

I assume he's only trying to run one set of speakers and a sub off of this amp. If he's looking to power front and the rear with a sub output, I would look at a 5 channel amp, otherwise, there's no fading music from front to back.

Yep just fronts and sub w/amp. The kx doesnt do what I want.

Listened to the focal's today. kp's were the best sounding of them, they wont sell mb's anymore think the Focal's are better. Guy told me I'd have a hard time finding Diamonds around here but who knows he's trying to make money as well. They wanted $799 for the 165kp's. The 165v2's werent bad either.
I can get the kp's for $480 online but really arent sure how impressed I was with them to be honest with you. Need to listen to some more of course but at least I did get to hear the Focal's thru the same head unit I'll be using.

I am in the same damn boat with you on the components. Looking for two pair and the mb quart and focals are my two choices. Been eyeing up the kicker ss65.2s also. Need to make a decision on which to go with.

Ok votes are in Diamond's it is. 600s'. Now just need to figure out what I'm doing with the sub. Custom fiberglassed enclosure from cartoys is $300. Not a pre fab plastic box but a solid custom fit. This is an important thing to look at I think. How the sub sounds and performs will depend on the enclosure totally. Not sure if this an an area to skimp in or not. The sub will pro'll be one 10" JL.
Looks like this so far now, Eclipse 8445, Phoenix Gold X200.4, Diamond Hex S600s comps.
