GM ordering part numbers for the correct items for F-bodies:
remote control door lock transmitter (keyfob) (93-95 Firebird) = 12522339
remote control door lock transmitter (keyfob) (94-95 Camaro) = 15725423 (formerly 10239647)
remote control door lock transmitter (keyfob) (without antitheft) (96-98) = 16245103
remote control door lock transmitter (keyfob) (with antitheft - RPO UA6) (96-02) = 16245100
Anyone know what the hell could be wrong? I'm at a complete loss.
Crack the case open. There is a small indent at the base on mine. Twist a key in it.
My fob can be reduced to four main parts -- Back case side (includes battery). Front case side. Gray molded button insert. Circuit board.
Very lightly dampen a cloth and wipe any dirt from the flat side of the circuit board where the gold E's nestle together.
On the side of the circuit board that has bumps of resisters, GENTLY wipe clean the battery spring contact points.
Wipe the dirt from the gray molded button insert. Clean both sides of all buttons of dirt/goo. The dark spots that are the back of the buttons must be cleaned.
Clean the accumulated dust/dirt/goo from inside and out of the case front. Dry well.
Remove the battery from the inside of the case back. Wipe/dust/blow out the dirt from the battery hole. Gently wipe the dirt from the battery contact springs.
Replace the buttons into the case front. Replace the ckt board with the flat side towards the buttons. Replace the battery into the case back with the printed (+) side down. Gently snap together front to back and see if cleaning did any good.
It goes without saying it would be a good time to change the battery, so I won't say it.
