Default weird audio problem

First off, I will explain my setup. I have a Crossfire amp (used) powering two CDT component speakers in the doors and a brand new ARC audio amp powering an Image Dynamics 10" sub. That's it.

Now for the problem :
For some reason when my car has been sitting for a while when I first start it up the sound is only coming from one speaker (passenger side). I don't know if this has to do with temperature or not. But once the car has been running for a while / warmed up the sound equals out and plays through both speakers. Seems like the longer it sits / colder it is the longer it takes for the audio to equal out and play through both speakers. Sub is playing just fine the whole time.

Any ideas on what this could be?

Thanks,
Brian

Sounds like you've got the right idea. It is likely one of the components on that channel of the amplifier that is not making good contact when cold. It works only after the heat of the working channel thermally expands it enough to bridge the gap. Hopefully, it's something simply not soldered properly to the board.

F-it, just replace the amp and get rid of the problem.

--OR--

Take a blow torch and heat it up every time right before you start the car. that'll get it nice and warm, toasty also, but warm

I would think an electronics repair place could fix it for less than $100. Or you can try fixing it yourself, if your good with electronics. You can use a can of compressed air to cool the individual components on the board to isolate the faulty one.

before u pay anyone anything, swap the speaker wire on the terminals of the amp with the ones that work and see if those now have the same problem, if they do then it is your amp, if they don't then it might be your speakers.

there is also a chance it maybe where the rca's connect to the amp. start messing with them a little, flip them and see if the problem is still on the same channel, experiment before u spend your money fixing something that may not be broken. goodluck.
