Default security feature ?? from a 95 camaro

dont know if this is the right forum but here it goes..i have a 95 v6 camaro that came w/an extra feature, which consist of a key that must be in a slot in order for the car to start. the key is located under the stearing wheel were all the cables are. my question was if i could some how take this feature off this car and put it on my 01 z28?? hopefully some one out there know what im talking about.

That sounds like an aftermarket system.
I remember seeing something like that installed a while back on the Crank & Crome TV show (its the guys from Shadetree Mechanic and Two Guys Garage).

If its the same system, then no you can't move it to a new car, because the other part of the system is epoxied to the starter motor with rock-hard epoxy.

Take a look at the starter motor to see if thats what this is.
