Default Is my Stock HU done?

Recently my stock CD player HU has been acting up. It has trouble reading CDs. So I purchased a CD lens cleaner, and cleaned the lens. It seemed like it worked for a few songs, but then it was back to the same crap. It will continuly have trouble reading tracks on CDs, lil scratched or new. It has less trouble with the new ones. I would rather fix it than dish out 3 bills for a new one. So is it done, is it played all its gunna play? Can I fix it myself? ANy suggestions?

mine has just started doing the same, especially when I drive over those cookies in the road. I just haven't had time to look at it.

Thats what I wanted to do yesterday, but it seems complicated to take apart and i believe it requires some special tools. Anyone with expertise on how to take it apart should chime in.........
