Amp Suggestion's
I am new to car stereo's and the install procedures etc.
I have begun to peplace my stock 2000 Camaro SS's monsoon system with an aftermarket setup. So far I have the following:
Headunit - Pioneer Avic X1 (UK version of Avic N3)
Fronts - Focal 165CA (6.5" Coax 2 way)
Rear Hatch - Focal 100CA (4" Coax 2 way)
Back Seat - Nothing
Amp - Stock amp disconnected
I am looking for recomendations for the following:
Back seat speaker
Amp
Sub & Sub box for drivers side rear
Any thoughts? Also, is it best to use a wiring harness.... if so, which one (or ones) will I need?
Thanks & Regards,
UKCamaroSS

If you are looking for reasonable sound quality there are several 5 channel amps that would work nicely in your setup.
On the high end Memphis makes two nice 5 channel amps that the 5th channel is a class D (efficient) channel. The high end version is 75x4 + 1000x1, while there is a more humble version that is 55x4 + 400x1. I have the modest version in my vert powering 4 6.5" coaxials and 4 8" subs wired to 1 ohm and it works very well.
Alpine also makes very solid 50x4+150x1 5 channels, as does Kicker. For your setup with a 10" sub I'd think a 5 channel like this would be a very nice solution.
However it is important that you choose your sub and amplifier as a pair. For example the Memphis amps require a 1 ohm sub load to get the most out of them. So for them you'd need a dual voice coil 2 ohm sub.
The alpines only support 4 ohm - so a simple singe voice coil 4 ohm sub would do fine.
The box is a no brainer - stealth boxes that fit in the dead storage area are commonly available.
Far as the sub there are too many to choose from. Pick the brand you like and make sure it is configured properly for your amp. JL, Memphis, Kicker seem popular around here.
