Default Monsoon CD Player for 1998 TA

Here is my situation. I have a 1998 TA with a Monsoon cassette deck in it. The factory CD changer is in back. I'm looking for a Monsoon CD deck that will work with the changer. Anyone know where to even find a changer that will work for this? Does anyone possibly have one for sale? Also, when I do go to install it, do I just take the cassette deck out and put in the CD deck?

Thanks

I need to know this too. How can I tell which CD player will work with my factory CD changer?

A mid99 or later CD Headunit will work.
(There is some uncertainty on when in mid99 the change happened.)
Your best bet is a 2001+ CD Headunit.

VIP1 is correct. The 01 and 02 models work with the changer and have certain other capabilities that make them the best option. A 2000 model will work but you will be taking a chance with a 99 because the change was made mid-year. The only way to tell if a 99 CD head unit will work (other than just trying it) is to open it up and look for the code stamped on the circuit board.

The CD head unit will plug in and mount exactly like your cassette head unit and your existing changer will connect and work the same as well.

It's the year of the head unit (rather than the year of car) that makes the difference. You can put a newer model (00-02) CD head unit in your 98 and it will control the changer you already have.
