Default Camaro Power Antenna

I have a 2001 Camaro and just had a power antenna installed. I know there's no antenna lead on the radio so I had it wired to the acc. and put in an on/ off switch. All good so far. The problem I'm having is that when the key is turned off and the car stays in the acc. mode for 15 min. or whatever it is the antenna goes down so to listen to the radio I have to turn the key back to acc. The installer tells me that function is controlled by a a data cable and there is nothing he can do. I'm thinking there has to be a way. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The pink lead on the back of your radio is a remote turn on lead. You just need to tap into that open jumper to get it to work.

OK cool. Can you just be a little more specific since I will be telling someone what to do? Where exactly do I attach the pink lead and what do you mean by open jumper? Thanks.

The bad news is that there is no pink wire on a Camaro - it's only in Firebird wiring harnesses. The good news is that the Camaro head unit still has the pin for the pink wire - there's just no wire attached to it. The link that VIP1 posted gives instructions on connecting a wire to that pin so that the antenna will continue to work as long as the radio is powered (retained accessory power).
