Help please
) After trying to jump start it and connecting a new battery, all the exterior lights turn on and the door ajar beep noise goes constantly even while all doors are closed, and when I try to start the car, nothing happens. Windows, doorlocks, radio, alarm don't work either. You think it somehow blew all the fuses or jacked up the bcm? How do you tell if a fuse is blown? Sorry that's probably about the biggest newb question you can ask but cars aren't my thing, I just like driving them, despite all the retarded crap I've done in them during the past year. It is a 2001 Z28 if that helps any. You also need to wait for a bit (probably 3-5 minutes) before trying to do anything!
The battery in your car (if it's DEAD-dead) needs time to get a little 'juice' flowing in it before trying to start or operate anything. I'm sure you get lights and noises once the connections to the 2nd battery are made, but not near enough yet.
If 3-5 minutes aren't enough to get your car started, wait another 3-5 and see what happens. . .
If possible, just throw the 2nd battery into your car. That will solve the wait-time issues. . .
Best of luck!
