Did I blow my sub?

Did I blow my sub? I have a Sony Xplod Class D Amp: 600watts RMS @ 2 ohms
with MA Audio ma121xq DVC 4ohms.
The subs site says:
• 300W/350W Rms
• 600W/700W Max
• Dual 4-Ohm Voice Coils
I am not sure how to read this.
Well i had my setup workin for maybe a 1/2 hour. It sounded excellent and now it doesnt work. I checked all connections numerous times, Tried inputting via an ipod through rca and that didnt work either. The sub simply rattles and doesnt pump. It smells a bit burnt. Anything I can do for it or know for sure if it is dead?

Yeah you probably did, seeing as you put 600RMS to a 600 watt max sub. You just ran it all the time at its max potentional for 1/2 hour. Plus what does the Sony amp peak out at 1300 watts isn't it? You most likely fried the coils.

Measure the resistance of the voice coils they should read around 4 ohms each. (probalby wont be perfect)
Im with him, you actually have more potential to burn a sub by underpowering it than by overpowering it. You just have alot of headroom and very minimal THD.
