Wiring under carpet?
Wiring under carpet? I have a bunch of wires running under the center console then to the rear seat. So they are exposed on the hump. I was thinking about cutting a hole in the carpet under the console and under the back seat and so I can put them under the carpet. Good/bad idea?
Is the carpet glued or anything?
Any electrical issues with doing this?
Wires are 10g from battery, HU wires, usb, vga.

As long as they don't have exposed cores and ground out on the body thats fine - but try not to run powers right next to signals, as usual. Just take a box knife and make a slit under the console. If there are a lot of wires, you might want to run them down the side of the tranny hump instead of on the top to hide them better.
BTW - looks like you did something I always wanted to do - where do all those wires go and how do you have your PC hooked up?

thanks, i guess i put power on one side of the hump, the rest on the other.
My usb goes to my ashtray, vga goes to my screen where the radio normally is, and the HU is back with my computer where the driver side rear seat used to be. I used a m2-atx power supply for my computer which starts/shutsdown automatically and monitors the battery so it doesnt drain it. Check out the link in my sig for carpc, great site with all the info you could ever want.
