Default why no sound??

I have a completley factory 95 bose/delco stereo that is silent. when i turn it up all the way i can barely hear it. same thing on both cd and radio. I know that all of the speakers have their own amps so i wouldnt think that they all went out?? I was guessing that it is a head unit problem. PLEASE HELP!! I want sound!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try pulling the head unit out and see if the harness is fully pluged into the unit. Thats where I would start. If that don't work, then let us know, I know that there is someone on this board that might know what else you could try. Good luck!

Did you check the fuses? There should be a PWR ACCY or RADIO ACCY fuse that provides power to the amps.

Well, we know that it isn't the head unit since the replacement does the same thing. The possibility that all the speakers blew at the same time is remote. The fact that you get a very small amount of sound would indicate that the speaker wires are still connected. So, it seems like the amps not getting power (or ground) would be the most likely cause. Did you actually test or replace the fuses, or did you just inspect visually? Fuses can sometimes look fine but still be blown. I don't have a wiring schematic for that year but I would expect that all the speaker amps are powered from a common source. You could use a multimeter or test light to check for power at one of the speaker amps.
