Amp Selection Help
Amp Selection Help I'm new to amps so I have no idea what to get. I'm guessing I need a four channel amp to power the front door speakers and the sail panel speakers? How does this amp look?
My door speakers are Alpine SPS-17C2's (50 watts RMS each)
My saild panel speakers will be Audiobahn AMD60Q's. (100 watts RMS each)
I have another question also, is there any way to turn down how much power is going to certain channels? Because my front speakers can handle like 50 watts RMS each and the Audiobahns I'm gonna get can handle 100 watts RMS each. Basically, what I'm asking is if I get an amp that puts out like 80 watts per channel, that would be good for my sails, but is there any way to decrease the output on 2 channels so i don't kill my door speakers??
One other question: If my front speakers can handle 50 watts RMS, would they have a short life if I fed them 60 watts??

A 4-channel 175-200 watt rms amp will do the trick. As for the amp, I dont know a great deal on Profile's equipment, but you cant go wrong with a Rockford fosgate or MTX. When it comes to reading rms power ratings, any speaker manufacture recommends running 75 % of the overall rms rating. So if you have a speaker rating at 100 rms, they would prefer you to run 75 watts.

and get some infinity reference 62.7I for your front and sail panel. but thats just me.
