halo head lamps question?

halo head lamps question? so i get them in today and the directions say connect the halo black side to neg. electrode of side marker light and red side to pos. side of marker????? where i know where the marker is, but what electrode are they talking about??? please help!!!!!!
all you have to do is ground the black wire to the frame by the air box where the other grounds are, then connect the red wire to the positive wire on the side marker. the positive wire should be the the brightest colored wire.
