blown sail panel speaker

blown sail panel speaker i was listening to my stereo the other day and one of the sail panel speakers began to krackle and pop like a bowl of rice krispies. Now no sound comes out of it at all. Is it simply blown or could there be another problem? Also do the two sail panel speakers both need to be in working order to get the best sound out of both? Example: i blew one a while back and took it out and the other sail panel speaker seemed quieter. When I got a new one and installed it, they both sounded great and the original one sounded louder. Now that this one does not work (but is still hooked up) the other sail panel speaker is very quiet as well. Could it be a problem with an amp? PLEASE HELP!!
I was trying to remember when I blew mine. I had only one workng and one not. I think it was quiter too. When I replaced the one they both got louder. Probably the way they are wired to the amp.

i was thinking the same thing. i hate this stock stereo. seesm like i have to replace the stock sails every 3-4 months. Is there a plug and play replacement that is less prone to blowing?
not really. You can do a search in this section for other people who have changed their sail panels to aftermarket and see how it sounds.
Others have gone the stealth box way and add an amp.
I unpluged my sail panel speakers and added a small amp and a 8" bazooka tube.
