Default Wiring in parallel

Hey guys I know that with subs you can wire in parallel to make two 4-ohm subs seem like a 2-ohm load, but I was wondering if you can do this with regular speakers too? I am buying Audiobahn AMD60Q's (3-ohms) for my sail panels and they will be getting a little over 50 watts RMS with the amp that I bought. I want to get them a little more power, so I was wondering if I could wire them in parallel and make them seem like a 1.5 ohm load????

I was just reading the manual for the amp and they specifically say in there not to do that. So I guess I answered my own question.
