Default Door speaker replacement ?

I replaced my in door speakers and the factory speakers had 4 wires on them.
The new speakers only had 2 wires and now there is barely any sound from the new door speakers. Ive tried several combinations hooking them up but Im at my wits end. WTF? Im not very electronics minded but this is ridiculous.
Any ideas?
Am I going to have to spend more money and get component speakers that use 4 wires?

TIA

The doors have separate components (mid and tweeter) mounted coaxially from the factory - that's why there's two pairs of wires. The mids are filtered for low frequencies only by the amp so you should probably use the tweeter wires. These would be tan (+) and gray (-) on the left side, and light green (+) and dark green (-) on the right.

HiTechGent has done this and could advise you on the wiring.

WHat speakers did you replace them with?

Not all speakers are going to work with the stock Monsoon system. The 2 most popular replacement speakers for the Camaro Doors are the Alpine SPS-17C2's and the Infinity KAPPA 62.7i's. The KAPPA's have seperate inputs for tweeter and woofer, and the Alpines can be easily modified to provide seperate inputs. I use Alpines in the doors of my SS.

OK I have an 02 Z28 and need to replace the door speakers also and I just pulled the door panel off and I have all RED wires going to the speakers.

I know the factory speakers are 2-ohm but the Alpine SPS-17C are 4-ohm now I will not be getting as much power with the Alpine as with the stock speakers but will they still sound as good or better?

Also are the Infinity Kappa a 2-4 ohm and where do you get them?

Ok!! I just did the Alpine SPS-17C2 and the sound is great BUT I have alwaysed liked the little bit of bass that the stock ones had and with the Alpines being 4-ohm rather then 2-ohm as the stock speakers are you just don't get that at ALL. Now don't get me wrong they sound GREAT and are plenty loud but I will need to Chang the rears for some more bass or just put my system back in the car.
