Default Removing Steering Wheel Buttons.....

.....and not because the light is out.

I put in an Alpine aftermarket deck w/SWI-ALP, the controls worked fine for 3 or 4 months. Lately the volume buttons (mostly volume up) have been working off and on. The rest of the buttons work fine. I'm thinking maybe the hot weather has something to do with it. I'm trying to remove the buttons but don't want to break them. Do they snap right off? Is there something I can spray in there without removing them? Any help would be appreciated.

Could be the signal from the SWI isn't getting to the infrared receiver. . .

I thought that might be it, but why would the other buttons be working? Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm guessing (LITERALLY) but with the different signals from the steering, they would have correspondingly different strengths??? Have you considered reprogramming the PAC-SWI or cleaning the LED & LED receiver? Thats a free option. . .

But this isn't the problem that the thread starter is experiencing.
