Default what to check

hey guys im not sure what it going on, my reverse lights worked when i did the A4 to M6 conversion in febuary and about 2 months ago my reverse lights stopped working and the bulbs look to be ok, what should i check to see what the deal is, fuses, wires, i have a mulitmeter i can use, but how would i do that,like this? turn the car to ON put it in reverse where the lights would come on then put the positive on the contact in the bulb connector then put the negative on the body to ground it out?

i know you said you checked the bulbs, but maybe you should try a new one just to be sure. or check your fuses. maybe something blew.

yeah i found out its either the sensor or something in the tranny, hooked the wires together at the connector with some sodder (just the sodder wire) and the lights came on, so ill have to either get a new sensor or have whatever inside the tranny switches the lights on fixed
