Help with building my system.. OK, so I've been reading through this forum going to threads going back a year.
I'm going to complete take out the Monsoon system and start from scratch.
Am I reading right when people say you only need a set of two good component speakers and a sub? The one thing I like about the Monsoon is the surround sound feel you get from all speakers in the car. Will I lose that going to two front speakers? Or should I still get some speakers for the rear?

I thought the same thing when I started many years ago. How is going from a 10 speaker system down to 5 speakers going to sound better? When you listen to a concert, the music come from the front and not from the back. Once you setup the front soundstage, there is no need for rear fill. Now, that I have been accustomed to my system, I hear other stock systems and it sound weird with rear fill. It does not sound natural. Spend the money on quality front componets and place them correctly.
