Bigger alternator question
Since adding a bigger fuel pump, electric and electric water pump I think the stock alternator is about maxed out. That added probably and extra 30amps of constant draw and even holding the car at 2000rpm the voltage will keep falling slowly. If I disconnect the aternator the volatge really drops so its working. I have a new red top optima in the car and 0ga welding cable to the relocated battery and 2ga welding cable to the battery from the alternator so that should be plenty.
I'm wondering which is the best higher armp alternator to go with, my car idles at 900-1000rpm so I'm not worried about idle output really. The alternator is buried under the blower and is a real pain to change so I'm looking for something that will last a while
