Default Installed amp and 8" subs- have slight static

Hey guys, I just installed a four channel amp and two 8" subs in the sail panels this past weekend. I just noticed tonight in my garage that the subs have a slight static sound, but only when the volume is turned all the way down or if the cd is paused. After you turn the voume up a couple clicks the sound gets more faint and then goes away. I never noticed this until tonight after I pulled in my garage. I will see if the car does it tomorrow outside. What could be causing this? I ran the RCA cables and remote wire down the passenger side and I ran the power wire down the driver side. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. By the way, the car wasn't running when I noticed this.

There will always be some noise, especially if you are still running off the monsoon head unit. Working with your amp gains and crossovers should make it a non-issue from the subs, though.

I am running off of an alpine h/u. I have the crossover switched to low pass on the subs and high pass on the front speakers. I tried to get it to do it last night when I was leaving my girlfriends, but it wouldn't make the noise then. Could it just have been that I was in my garage and thats why it did it?

I have another question also. Is it normal when speakers are hooked to an amp to hear a faint little sound out of the speakers when you turn the key on?? Its not constant, its just a tiny little click or something that happens for a split second when I turn the key on.

The little click your hearing when you turn on the key is probably normal. Some amps do it and some don't. I wouldn't worry about it.

Its also pretty normal to have a slight static sound with the volume all the way down. As long as the static sound does not go up and down with the volume of the music I wouldn't worry about it.

Okay cool thanks. I wasn't really worried and you can't hear anything with the car running because I have true duals dumped.
