Car wont start at random, could it be the alarm?

Car wont start at random, could it be the alarm? About a week ago, the car began not starting at random, I think it has to be something with the alarm because it allows me to turn the accessories on but wont start the car. And I do have power from the battery.
I also thought about the starter solenoid but at the same time the car began this, it also flicked the headlamps up/down when I arm/disarm the car.
Any help is appreciated

Re: Car wont start at random, could it be the alarm? I had the same prob on my other Camaro, I troubleshot it down to the kill switch. I had to replace the tumbler because the 2 tiny wires they have in there break after so many turn-overs. No way to really by-pass it just buy one from auto store and have dealer regring theft-lok key.

Another possibility along the same lines is if you have the resistor slug in your key, the contacts tend to wear out over time and stop making connection. You can either go to the dealer and have a new key made or you can track the wires down where they enter the steering column and put a resistor across them of equal value as the slug. Make sure you cut the wires and attach the resistor to the firewall end of the wires, not the column end. That should bypass the key slug forever.
