I just installed the 150W amplified 8" RS in my GMC and am very happy with its performance. It delivers tight bass, and goes surprisingly low also for a small woofer. I'm guessing because it is a dual voice coil woofer.
It hooks up pretty easily. You just need to buy some 12 gauge wire and go all the way up to the battery with it. The kit comes with an inline fuse holder to put near the battery, and also has another fuse on the amp on the back. You wire it up using both rear speakers (the ones in the hatch) for the F-body. It takes a signal wire from each of the right and left, so that all bass notes are picked up. It also turns itself on when it senses input from those speaker wires. Comes with an adjustable crossover, and has a level control. The good thing about it is that it weighs just under 20 lbs complete, and is easy to remove.
The best place to mount it in an F-body would be down in the T-Top storage area, firing into a corner. I'll probably buy another one for the driver's side of my X-cab, it fit perfectly under the seat.
www.nowonspecial.com had excellent prices and I got my stuff in a week. I also ordered a set of Pioneer speakers to replace the ones in all four of my truck doors. Very pleased with them!
