Default the DING DING DING sound

how do i disable that gawdawful siren..i hate that thing.. totally useless and it has to go..i iknow the ****** door is open but i want to listen to the music..grr

anyone know how i can get rid of it or is it just something i have to live with?

I havem't researched it on our cars, but my old S10 if you removed a wire from the door switch it would not come on. It also killed the interior light though when you opened the door. I think our cars, if you do pull the switch wiring, when you unlock the car with the remote the light wil still come on.. Just a thought.

In all the cars Ive disabled it on, all it was is a little black rectangular box that has the speaker in it and thats all it was for, that stupid dinging noise. Its under the drivers side dash somewhere. Just take the panels off and open the door with the key in ACC and listen for it and pull it out. Its just pushed into some connectors <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

anyone else know..i think im going to just start lookin for it..

it wont disable anything else will it

im guess it wont remind you to turn off the lights if you do happen to turn them on manually
