Default HELP.. can i do this to my headlights without any damage?

got an LS1 TA WS6 ,,, what i want to do is make the high beams work with the low beams (being as equally bright as the low beams) and let the fogs work with them too...

Basically i want the high beams to work as both high beams and low beams without doing any damage to the car (no melting lenses, wires, electric system damage..etc)

take a look at this to know what I have in mind... (its the pic at the bottom) http://www.cardomain.com/id/2002_taws6

please help <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> ... i really NEED to do this

there is a way and i have done it to my car with no side effects. (i would post a picture but do not know how). basically what you do i stake a relay and run a wire form the high beams which is Green in my car and use it for the trigger wire for both relys (what closed the coil in the relay)(the for lights and the high and lows) and on the relay use a twelve positive and the ground to complete the circuit. therefore the lights are running off of a seperate 12v source. sorry if this is confusing, email me and i will send you better instructions with pictures.

hope that this helps

hey

Thanks for the reply ... i was really interested in making them both work... and yeah you were right... it does sound very confusing ...

the only thing is i noticed in your signature that you have a Camaro? I have a Trans am... did you do that mod to the Camaro?

Kind of confused... hope you can still help.

Thanks again.

yes i did it to my camaro and i do not think that it matters if it is a camaro or a t/a i saw it done on a truck. the only thing that could be different is the wire colors. i would go outside a tell you the colors of the wires that i used but my car is in the shop with hail damage. it really is not as confusing as i made it out to sound like, its just that i am not a good technical writer. still working on that write up, so as to make it easier to understand.

hey man thanks again in advance...

I heard that if i do it like the way you mentioned i could abuse the cars electric system and the bulb can also cause heat and burn some wires and bulb housings... i would also loose warranty if i did that...

is that all true? did you have any problems when you did that to your car? Also do you know of a place that could do that for me? i know the dealership wont.

There is a way to do it. I do not know how to though, as I haven't done it on my own car.
There is however a member on LS1.com, I believe his name is xbchbum who gave a description on how to do it. I think he also fashioned an adapter that would do it for you. Instead of cutting factory wires.
