Electrical problem
The pulses are more visible at idle but if I rev the motor, they increase until they're hardly noticeable. If I put my foot on the brake pedal while in park, the pulses don't seem as visible either.
The motor cranks strong and the voltage meter only drops below halfway if I have all the accessories on otherwise it's normal.
It's a '99 A4 with an ASP crank pulley and Optima yellow top. The pulley's been on maybe 25k miles and the Optima's been in a year, maybe 12k miles.
Got any ideas?
DAMNIT!!!! Mine's doing it too, I notice it when I'm on a dark road and go to hit the brakes.....PULSE! I talked to my mechanic and he said it was common amongst the cars, I still am pissed though, mine's a 2002 M6.

This is like a constant pulsing mainly when the car is in park but I can pull the hand brake up and put the car in reverse, neutral, or drive and it still does it.
The best I can type and describe it is...
waawaawaawaawaawaa....without the sound . If I rev the motor it's...
wawawawawawawawawa... It's really getting on my nerves.
Any ideas?
They all do that, thank GM for that one. Once your moving and the car comes to a cruising speed it doesnt do it anymore, just at idle.

No no! Trust me, this is not normal. I'm on my third 4th gen Fbody.
It doesn't go away but the increased frequency may make it look like it does when I'm driving around.
I'm used to the occassional "blink" or dimming when I hit the brakes or the fan or air pump comes on. This isn't the same thing.
Ever take a light switch and sloooowly push it to see at what point the light turns off? Usually it will dim first. It's like that but a constant rythmic pulsing.
