and you will need to run new speaker wires.

I reccomend just the headunit now,and when you want to upgrade the speakers, install the amp.

Your really going to put a lot of time installing an amp on the stock speakers, and who knows how long they will last.

I ran 0/1 guage wire and my entire Venom wire harness through the existing firewall grommet.
Heres what to do.
Pop the hood. Get a 10mm socket, and remove the 2 bolts that hold in the PCM (Passenger side far back corner). Remove the PCM by carefully lifting it up and moving it towards the manifold.
It's tight, but it will come out. Just don't yank it out.
After you have the PCM out, you will see a grommet where the wires go through.
Now go in the passenger side of the car, get a phillips screwdriver, and remove the 4 screws that hold the lower kick panel. Lift up the piece that covers the door threshold starting from the back of the door and remove the panel.
You will see where the wires come through, you'll have to reach up under the dash to feel the grommet.
What I did was, very carefully, put a little slice in the boot of the grommet to increase the opening.
Feed your wire through from the engine compartment, and push it about 1 ft into the car. Go back under the dash and start pulling it through. There you go, your wire is in.
NOW
You have to run it to the back where your amp is.
You now must remove the rear passenger side panel. Start by removing the coat hanger by pulling the middle section out and then just pull the whole thing out(Pain in the ***).
The panel is held on with Velcro pads. Pull on the panel slightly towards the front, and remove.
Also take out the rear side panel.
Run your line. You should remove the seatbelt bracket on the floor to run the wire.
Don't forget to run the RCA's on the other side or up the middle. All you have to do if you don't feel like removing the drivers side panels is remove the passenger seat. Very easy, it's just 4-18mm bolts. Then you can lift up the whole carpet and run them down the middle.
Good luck.
If you have anymore questions, just email me.

About running the wire, I agree with VenomSS. That's where I ran my wire. 4 awg and there was no problem with it fittin.

And about an aftermarket head unit with the stock speakers...I don't see why they would tell you it can't be done. People do it all the time. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding that part of your question.
