Will I need a different alternator and battery???? I want to upgrade my 200 watt Monsoon in my 99 SS to the following:
Kenwood Excelon KVT-911DVD headunit
Kenwood KGC-6042A EQ
Infinity Kappa 652.5i 6-3/4" 2-way Speakers for doors
Infinity Reference 452i 4" 2-way Speakers for hatch
Kenwood eXcelon KFC-X178 6-3/4" 2-way Speakers for rear seat area
Rockford Fosgate HE2 RFP3210 10" Dual 4-Ohm Voice Coil Component Sub x 2
Rockford Fosgate Punch 500X 62.5W x 4 for door/rear seat speakers
Rockford Fosgate Punch 700S 175W x 2 for subwoofers
Rockford Fosgate Punch 200S 50W x 2 for 4" hatch speakers
I am wondering if I will need a higher output alternator and a larger battery. If so what should I get and where to get it from?

Re: Will I need a different alternator and battery???? Sounds like a sweet setup man....i love my <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> Infinity's. Im running a RF Punch 360a2 amp right now w/ a 1.5F cap and 725 cold cranking amp battery. I have very little voltage drop on my gauge even at idle. I would just buy a bigger battery like archdog said. You should be fine then.

Re: Will I need a different alternator and battery???? Would I be better off getting say a Yellow top optima battery and the B4C police package alternator? That alternator puts out a lot more amps doesn't it? I see the yellow top optima is only 650CCA, is that enough? When I had to replace my battery in all my 3rd gen f-bodies I always used a 900-1000CCA. Seems like 650 isn't very much.

Re: Will I need a different alternator and battery???? i would get a red top, i think personaly, yellow top is a waste of money... like my red top has about 980 cranking amps and about 750 co cranking amps,,, yellow top is a deep cycle battery, its not more powerful than the red top, it can be drained all the way down and still be able to recharge it,,, deep cycle batteries are used for boats, ect. its like a rechargeable battery. if you are going to compete, like having your engine off while playing music, than yellow top, but for like 30 min or so, then red top,
you really don;t need to buy a new alternator, your system is not that big,,, i would buy a red top battery and a cap, and that would be plenty for three amps, the amps you said, they are not huge amps, they will not require that much power unless in the future, you are going to try to compete and get competion amps and subs, just save your money for other mods

I got a better battery, with all the amps, you will wear out the battery... thats what i did, i have two amps and a high tech alarm. before with the stock battery, the battery gauge would jump up and down with the music and that puts strain on the battery, you can go a couple of months on it; i got a Red Top Optima; its made by Interstate Batteries, its a sprial battery and it has alot more Cranking amps.

you can get a Yellow top battery, they are alot more, yellow is a deep cycle battery, you can run it all the way down and recharge it no problem, like... car off, listening to music alot loud. red top is about 120 or so and yellow top is about 200 or so. now with my system, the gauge doesn;t jump as much as it did, so in the future, i am going to put a capasitor in the back, and that will help alot, a cap costs about 100
