If you cut the wire like in the posted link, the car will only start with the key in the "on" position and then pushing the start button. If you tap into the yellow wire instead of cutting it, you can start the car with the key too. I've got mine wired to only start with the button.

Only reason I did it that way was because I ran out of wire taps! Was too excited to see if it worked to run all the way into town & pickup some more so I just cut the wire. It's just personal preference (or laziness), both ways work fine.
