Re: alternator wine i dont have rca's, i am using high input. anyways, i think i have solved that problem, but right now, the only problem i am having is even with a high pass filter on, i cannot use the stock equalizer without picking up distortion. when i had that gain on the amp turned up further, i could use the EQ, but now, (after i tuned the imput signal level down to give me more range on my volume dial and to stop amplifing the background noise) the Eq seems to over power my HPF on my amp
alternator wine I recently replaced my monsoon amp in my 02 ta with a 4 ch sony i spliced into all wires where the monsoon use to be and i ran new power and ground... now i get some alternator wine and a buzzing noise thru the speakers whenever i turn on the ac.... i am using stock head unit for astedic reasons i want to keep it what wan i do to solve this problem???
Re: alternator wine what i "think " it is is thatthe hu out put it too much for the sony high imput when i start to turn the hu up and it is causing my thd to rise ...that is easy to fix ... but!!! when i go to fix that problm by upping the gain on my amp so i can use less signal to achive the same amp output i inturn start amplifing background noise like the ac hum and alternator wine... so you see its knida a doubble edges sord here one way (gain down) the hu is overloading my imputs to achive max volum and the other way (gains up) the amp starts picking up alternator wine and i loose range on my volume dial... shitty eh? <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
